It is well - Rest in Peace |
June 25, 2008 |
It is very unbelievable. But who are we to question God in His Majesty, infinite Goodness and Mercy. Before it started God knows it and before it ended He knows it. I have nothing to say except to thank God for His Lordship's life whilst on this planet earth. My only consolation is that his Lordship knew God whilst on mother earth unto death. Rest in perfect peace in the bosom of the Lord.

Man of integrity |

It brings me such sadness to write this. I am still in complete shock on hearing about the passing of Hon. Justice A.O. Ejiwunmi A.K.A Uncle Tola. Though, I personally knew him for a short while, it was a true honour to be related to a man of such integrity, wisdom and grace. What I'll always remember is how he made my sister, brother and I feel so welcome whenever we were around him. I will always cherish the time we spent with him and the way he always made my sister and I feel like princesses when in his presence. He ALWAYS wore a smile and was a REAL gentleman with such poise and sophistication. Uncle Tola will be sorely missed by all that knew him. Heaven have just welcomed an Angel. Love to all the Ejiwunmi family and may God be with you all at this time. The Osoliki family

Clerk to his lordship at the Supreme court of Nig |

My Boss, Justice A.O Ejiwunmi, JSC, Rtd. was an epitome of hardwork, fair-play and love. His selfless service and sacrifice to humanity and God is on the lips of everyone. I still find the news of his death stunning and hard to believe. This is especially so, regarding the fact that I actually saw him last on the evening of Friday 20th june 2008, at about 5:00pm or thereafter. On that day I closed late from work. I had walked past the main gate to the Court a bit when a car[Jeap] drove past and suddenly stopped a short distance in front of me. The driver made to put the car on reverse when I noticed it was his lordship's and ran to him. "Michael, you are looking worn out" was his first observation after I greated him. And I wouldn't say I wasn't. There was too much to do in the office that friday. In any case, he asked me to join him in his jeap so they can drop me at my bus stop, as he was going back to his hotel. I did and sat next to him. In the car, he told me he came to see Dr. Abbas of the Supreme court, that one of his feet was paining him, but the Dr. was not there. He promised to check back again on tuesday. When I asked wether it was the same leg that he complained about in time past, he said no. That was our last conversation as I got to my bus stop and alighted the jeap. So I didn't only see my Boss that friday evening, he actually gave me a ride in his jeap. Thus, when on the following sat. afternoon I heard the news, I was stunned. I called Akin. He confirmed it. It's sad! His life was a blessed and fulfilled one. His death too was glorious though sad as we lost a nice & great man & brain. Though this is not entirely so as we still have the hope of seeing our Dear and loved ones again on the last day in heaven. I could immagine him smiling as he left the world. He rests with the Lord. This is consolation per se. And I hope the family feel the same with them. Do please take heart, the EJIWUNMIS'!!

I saw the always smilling Hon Justice Ejiwunmi at the Supreme Court on Monday the 16th day of June, I never knew it would be my last time of seeing him on earth. He gave me his number and asked me to call him. More than four lawyers greeted him at that moment and told him he was looking good: this was right in my presence. In his usual jokular manner, he asked why everybody was passing the same comment about him. I never knew I was having the very last contact with this great Icon.
I worked closely with him during his last few years on the supreme court bench. When I was faced with serious challenges then, he did all he could to assist me; He has a special way of calming any tensed-up individual beside him. He would always tell me:calm down, and pray that your tormentors will listen to the voice of reason. In this man I learnt a lot of virtues.
My humble self and every other life this great man touched in his life-time will surely miss him. And I have no doubt that people, angels and the heavenly hosts will testify that:He was a GOOD MAN.
MAY HIS GENTLE AND AMIABLE SOUL REST IN PERFECT PEACE IN THE BOSSOM OF THE LORD. (AMEN)

How do I start? I have not been myself since I
heard this unbelievable but sad story that My

I discussed with on Monday, 16th June 2008
at Hon. Justice S.U. Onu's valedictory session
is no more. My boss from 2001 to 2006 at the
supreme ct, Abuja.
You were always there for al; your fatherly
advice, encourgagement supported with
biblical quotations, your financial support
and your chastisement when necessary, would
be missed by all of us. what of 'Everyday with Jesus'
you introduced me to; I am reading the last edition
you sent.
I know that you are resting on the bosom of your
Ccreator because you always placed God first in your life.
My prayer is that Almighty God would give strenght to
those you left behind especially your beloved wife, children
numerous relations and well wishers.
YOU TOUCHED MY LIFE POSITIVELY and May your Soul
rest in peace in heaven. As a Catholic I would start
booking masses for the repose of your soul.

I remember us walking downtown and people always giving you props and you would be like "what is wrong with this people" lol. You were always a complete gentleman, dressed to the nines even if you were just hanging in the house!
We love you and rest in eternal peace.
